A poem of Despair in these gloomy days when people flee their homeland only to embark on the unwanted land.
Date: unknown
I searched her eyes
And
Particles of an old sob
Rained on the floorboards
Of the hostel
Where the young
Refugee girl
Who fled from the Jungle
On top of a lorry
Spent her first night.
A new dawn
On the horizon
Or so I thought.
I saw
In her eyes
Acid rain which polluted my airways.
Staring past me
A hollow look
Into the abyss of
A ruined courtyard
In a village
Where its people
Spoke the language of
Christ.
The town was soaked
In the hurricane
Of acid rain
And the girl slipped away
From the grip of hope.
