and the children of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those lovely souls, who are children no more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hum of the high street, and passerby\u2019s talking,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the roaring sound of cars,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
coming from somewhere and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
going somewhere.
The shops open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Customers in and out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The smell of coffee, the scent of fresh flowers, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the Italian bar nearby.
All untouched by the missing time in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Missing was the familiar smile you once had,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as you spotted me from a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strangers we are now, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
in this familiar road,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and all the other roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The smile has evaporated <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as you looked at me ,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and turned around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Or was it you I just saw?
Or the memory stored somewhere,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in my long forgotten mind?
