Before I got lost and never <\/p>\n\n\n\n
found my way home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone cries in the distance,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She calls my name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My name which was lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n
on the crossing from there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have forgotten the words,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and understand no more<\/p>\n\n\n\n
what they meant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone is perched above sea level,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
like a seabird,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and looks far beyond the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A dingy is swaying back and forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A hand is raised as a solute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pieces of the poems we once recited<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and danced with the music,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the words which curled through <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the crowd are drowned and lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n
inside the belly of a shark <\/p>\n\n\n\n
among the thunder of the waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone called my name as silence<\/p>\n\n\n\n
swept across and swallowed me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
