{"id":988,"date":"2026-08-29T13:56:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T13:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rouhi-shafii.com\/en\/?p=988"},"modified":"2026-08-29T14:20:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T14:20:50","slug":"in-the-rose-garden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rouhi-shafii.com\/en\/?p=988","title":{"rendered":"In the Rose Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The enciunter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was walking on that crowded street <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">looking for a memory of the past<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">unaware that far beyond the horizon <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">tine has erased my words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the echo of your steps one by one<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">resounded in my heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the music of gods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One step forward, and two steps <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">deep into the mist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I heard someone call my name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It wasn\u2019t you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone stole your smile. <br>It wasn\u2019t me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your smile was there on your lips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing reached me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You and your smile reached your des.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I never did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From among the crowd, your voice echoed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">in the mist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know, I know you were there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, right at that moment in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But as the mist cleared <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the faces appeared one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was there, but you and your smile<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">were there no more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A collection of poems written over a period of time.
