We cannot separate
written by Ali Rasuli
translated by Rouhi Shafii
We cannot separate,
a moon which has fallen into the sea
from the waves.
I cannot separate the beauty from your eyes,
or the flower from the mountain,
or desolation from my heart.
We cannot separate a cry
from the lips,
the rain from the street,
the tree from the leaf,
or the autumn from the tree.
My darling,
you cannot separate the bread
from a revolution,
tyranny from them,
you, from me,
and hope from us.
My darling hope,
A beautiful hope is the night
when hope knocks at the door
and with a smile would say,
its daybreak.
